The revelations about Matt Lauer are astonishing. Over eight girls have accused Lauer of inappropriate sexual behavior, yet, NBC executives still deny knowing anything regarding Lauer’s sick behavior. A few even went on to defend him and said that they only knew him to be a “wonderful human being” and said they knew nothing about the now infamous “under the table” button.
Sources in NBC told us that the first official complaint they received within the Company was Monday evening. The Chief Executive Officer of NBC Andy Lack was immediately brought in to clean up the Brian Williams debacle. Little did he know he had a much larger crisis.
In most of NBC’s official announcements, they say that the “present” NBC administration wasn’t aware of Lauer’s behavior. This insinuates that NBC execs, such as Lauer’s great chum along – ex-chairman Jeff Zucker, knew exactly what Lauer was doing. One Lauer victim interviewed by popular magazine Variety explained that: “The system shielded the s–t out of Matt Lauer.”
The stories narrated by the victims of Matt Lauer are pretty graphic. NBC spokesperson Stephanie Gosk was also a guest of Megyn Kelly on Thursday. Gosk recounted one tale of Lauer presenting a sex toy gift it with a very “sexual” note attached to it. He reportedly also exposed himself to this woman.
Another victim told the New York Times that Lauer had forced intercourse with her till she fainted. She had to be examined by a nurse. However, till date, none of the girls have come forward to lodge an official complaint with the New York Police Department, and NBC continues to finish their “internal investigation”.
A few days ago, another video of Lauer emerged, where he can be seen telling former co-host Meredith Viera to keep bending around so he can see her blouse. In an older interview with Katie Couric, Viera clarified Lauer’s most bothersome habit as “pinching me on the ass a lot of the time”.
“There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry. As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC. Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized, but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed. I regret that my shame is now shared by the people I cherish dearly,” Lauer later said in his “apology. But it did not end there.
LAUER’S NEW DEMANDS:
Matt Lauer decided that he did not want to quit gracefully, and as soon as he issued the above apology, his lawyers sent a “Demand letter” to NBC, demanding that they pay his salary as agreed in the initial contract all because NBC had fired him and he did not quit himself.
Lauer earned $20 million annually and had 1.5 years remaining in his NBC contract, hence the 30 million. Most large contracts such as this do include a morals clause, but his attorneys do exactly what good lawyers do and searching it on to find out what cash they could buy for him (likely a fantastic idea since he will probably not work in the industry ever again).
However, our sources in the NBC say that the bosses are infuriated after receiving Lauer’s legal notice. They say that what he did was absolutely against human morals, and hence he is not entitled to a single dollar from NBC. In fact, they feel that due to his behavior and stoppage of his show, it has only caused irreparable damage to their brand name.
Another source in the NBC told us that they will not only abstain from paying the contract value, but also not pay any formal “settlement” as is paid to other employees. The source went on that he will only be paid his salary up to Friday, which was his last official working day.
“I don’t know what everyone is so surprised by. This has been going on for months and months and everybody knew it and it was just going to be which girl came forward, and who reported it first,” one of the victims told Variety.
“Everybody knew about Matt’s behavior, and everyone had to put up with it because he was so powerful, and well protected by management,” another told the New York Post.
Meanwhile, sources close to Lauer told us that he would not be focusing on “family life” with his Dutch model wife Annete Roque, to whom he has been married for over 20 years. HE has three children aged 16, 14, and 11.
