In a breaking story coming from Washington D.C., our sources have confirmed that Democratic Senator from Minnesota Alan Stuart “Al” Franken will be stepping down from his position after over 6 women accused him of sexual harassment.
Earlier, he had refuted the allegations and claimed that he did nothing wrong. But now, in a complete turn of events, he has made a shocking admission in his final speech to the Senate, saying that he would quit his position in the coming weeks.
“All women deserve to be heard and their experiences taken seriously. While gave some people the false impression that I was admitting doing things that I hadn’t done. Some of the allegations against me are simply not true. Others I remember differently.
Serving in the US Senate was the great honor of my life. Nevertheless, I am announcing that in the coming weeks I will be resigning as a member of the United States Senate.
I may be resigning my seat but I am not giving up my voice. I will continue to stand up for the things I believe in as a citizen and as an activist. I know in my heart that nothing I have done as a senator — nothing — has brought dishonor on this institution. And I am confident that the ethics committee would agree.
I, of all people, am aware there is some irony in the fact that I am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of sexual assault sits in the Oval Office and a man who has repeatedly preyed on young girls campaigns for the Senate with the full support of his party. But this decision is not about me,” Franken said to the Senate, in what can be his last speech there.
He went on for a few minutes about how he was innocent and did not do anything. But Franken seems to be forgetting one small thing – the evidence is strong against him. Women who have been sexually harassed by him have released both photographic and audio visual evidence of him harassing them, and for some god forsaken reason, he still claims innocence. As soon as Franken announced his resignation, a few democrats started making a noise demanding that Roy Moore now withdraw from the upcoming election. But, they seem to be forgetting one simple thing – there is no proof against Roy Moore!
Roy Moor’s accuser stepson clearly made a video statement telling how his stepmom may be actually lying about the incident and she did not have a single piece of proof to back her up. But this case is nothing like that. The lady has proof, she has shared an image of the Senator molesting her.
